How do players find my server?

They open the game your server runs, Sandbox unless you change it, and pick your server by name from that game's server list. There is no address to type in: S&box connects players through Steam's network.

How do I run a different game?

Find the game on sbox.game. Its package is the part of the address after sbox.game/ with a dot in place of the slash, such as facepunch.walker. Set it as the Game in the panel, change or clear the Map, and restart. The server downloads the game when it starts.

How do I make someone an admin?

Accepted Answer

Put their SteamID64 in the Admins setting in the panel, separating several with commas, and restart. They get the kick, ban and restart permissions, and the game decides what each one lets them do. For permissions a game defines itself, leave Admins empty and edit config/users.json in the file manager.

Can I type commands into the server console?

Not yet. The panel's console shows everything your server prints, but S&box's dedicated server does not take typed commands on Linux yet. Admin actions happen in the game itself, by the players you make admins.

Can my server keep the same Steam ID?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Without a token, Steam gives the server a new ID each time it starts. Create a game server login token for app 590830 on Steam's game server account page, put it in the Game Server Token setting, and the server keeps one ID.
